A Giant Sleeps" — Northern Young Professionals for Tinubu (NYPT) Mourn the Passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari

In a heartfelt statement issued from Abuja, the Northern Young Professionals for Tinubu (NYPT), under the leadership of its National Coordinator, Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, have expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCON — describing him as “an exemplary leader built with integrity, humility, and selfless devotion to the Nigerian people.”

Hon. Yakasai, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (North-West), noted that the news of the former President’s death has left a deep void in the hearts of millions — not just in the North, but across Nigeria and the world.

“We join the entire nation and the global community in mourning the loss of a father figure, a towering statesman, and a moral compass whose name was synonymous with discipline, sacrifice, and love for country,” the NYPT statement read.

Describing President Buhari as “a man whose silence carried weight, and whose every decision was guided by principle,”the NYPT praised his enduring legacy in public service — from his early days as a military officer to his leadership as civilian President who gave hope to millions.

“In a world hungry for honesty, President Buhari stood firm. He lived simply, served diligently, and led fearlessly. His legacy is not written only in policies but in the hearts of everyday Nigerians who saw in him a rare sincerity,” the statement continued.

The NYPT extended its condolences to the Buhari family, the people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians — praying that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and bestows comfort on those left behind.

“May his memory continue to inspire courage in our leadership and conscience in our citizenship. His story is not over — it lives on in the hearts he touched and the nation he loved.”

The message ended with the solemn Islamic prayer:
"Ameen."
